Cheese Tour on ADARRAZPI Sheep farm

Taste the Idiazabal Cheese EXPERIENCE. We'll show you Mikel Beldarrain and Inma Iriondo's farm, which is placed in the foothills of majestic Mount Adarra surrounded by nature and beautiful landscape, in Urnieta village, at 15 minutes from San Sebastian. Come with us and you will learn all about the making of this wonderful cheese.

During the tour we will see Mikel's dog called "Argi" working with the sheeps, to understand how important is this animal in every days working, and you will see the abilities of these animals, their fidelity and their incredible instinct to work with sheep.

We will visit the facilities: the WAREHOUSE , the STALL, the MILKING ROOM and the DAIRY

During this tour to the installations we will learn step by step the process involved creating cheese, from the feeding of the flock to their milking, the cheese making, and the storage of the cheese for their healing in the cold-storage room. Each visitor will also participate in the preparing of a JUNKET (traditional basque yogurt made from sheep milk) or a CHEESE (ask for it on the booking moment).

After the guided tour it is time to taste some Idiazabal cheese from “Adarrazpi” farm, and if you wish can purchase typical Basque products in our little shop.

And to finishing, if you choose the LUXURY tour, you can taste our amazing roasted suckling lamb at our facility.
